Steve Wozniak, inventor of the personal computer and co-founder of Apple Computer Inc., has been anxious as cities across the country are becoming unwired. Wozniak sees this advancement as one of his original dreams coming true. "It's more efficient and very low cost when there is pure wireless access. VeriLAN offers a local, affordable alternative with the same capabilities as larger more traditional competitors, while being considerably more nimble," said Wozniak. Wozniak has also agreed to become an advisor to the company as it launches its Digital Cities initiative throughout North America.

VeriLAN will design, build and deploy wireless networks to three new clients: IEEE 802, WiMAX Forum and ZigBee Alliance to their hometown of Portland, Oregon late 2005 to supply their Digital Cities infrastructure to the city's "Unwire Portland" effort. They are the incumbent network provider, as they were the first to deploy a pre-WiMax in Portland Oregon wireless network. Other national networks VeriLAN designed, deployed or maintains include sites in Vancouver and Federal Way, Washington in addition to their global work in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic.

VeriLAN is also the wireless infrastructure provider for the IEEE 802 standards body, the WiFi and WiMAX Forums, Digital Subscriber Line Forum (DSLF), Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) and Championship Auto Racing Team Series.
