Navini Networks Inc
Navini Networks Inc. the leading provider of non-line-of-sight, zero-install portable wireless broadband technology announced the availability of the PCMCIA card for 3.5 GHz on the 6th April 2005 at the WiMAX Summit in Paris.

"The 3.5GHz spectrum, traditionally known as the fixed wireless spectrum, is becoming key to the broad development and acceptance of mobile broadband wireless," said Karim Taga, Managing Director, Arthur D. Little Austria GmbH. "Navini Networks is the only vendor that has already deployed large scale commercial portable broadband networks in this spectrum. Navini has demonstrated the viability of wireless broadband as a mass market offering."

"The introduction of the PCMCIA card in 3.5GHz will further enhance the value of this spectrum and spur portable broadband network deployments in Europe and elsewhere," added Taga.

"Navini's solution is powered by patented Smart Antennas with adaptive beam forming technology," said Roger Dorf, president and chief executive officer of Navini Networks. "This makes it possible to deliver on all the requirements of a successful personal broadband network: Wide area coverage, indoor zero installTM plug-n-play, and broadband data rates."

Navini's 802.16e PCMCIA card will deliver DSL speeds and portability today. "What's the power of this? People have embraced the freedom and 'personal nature' of cell phones and they will now be able to enjoy the same freedom and personal connection to high-speed Internet access."

"Our ongoing commitment to deliver a commercially viable upgrade path to 802.16e PCMCIA card has allowed Navini and its customers to redefine wireless broadband from a fixed to a personal offering thus significantly increasing the value of the 3.5GHz spectrum," added Dorf.

The release of the 802.16e PCMCIA card this side of 2007 is very unlikely. For more information regarding Nivini Networks, 802.16-2004 and 802.16e refer to the links to the right of the page.
